I love to detail anything!! I've been blessed to have worked on some pretty cool stuff.

If you're doing this as a business the "coolness" factor of what you detail will take you so far. You will have to pull in the $$$$ to stay in business.

I have seen businesses die because the business owners ego was bigger than his business plan.

Here is a short video I made about the subject ----- Chase profit not the glory. - YouTube (http://youtu.be/Tox_8KqsWBM?list=UU-zeQ1_cfrlAj88ykhV9Qfg)

Well said Joe!:dblthumb2:

Yeah.... I'm well aware of the "ego" types. Heck.... check out everlasting, forever and ever, in perpetuity, till dead and gone.... photo laden threads populating forums and it's pretty easy to figure out those that like their backs patted on a regular basis.

Sure, everyone EVERY - ONE loves to see an exotic done up to the nines. But good grief it gets a bit old when you see guys that seem to have 35 hours a day to post photos all the time.

Really love the video brother! :props:

Agreed Joe!!!!
It is the new detailer who must of the time just focus on "exotic" or expenses cars to make money, the reality is that you will not do an exotic everyday and those fleet jobs, maintenance wash for regular customers are the one that actually pay most of my bills because there are more regularly than a high-end jobs. I love to do a lit bit of everything it reminds me where I started and where my passion for detailing starts.

Well, you just found someone that believes who you are.

Great video, wise words... For sure I'll consider what I just saw, for the long run.

Thanks a lot for sharing,

Kind Regards.

Not to be a neysayer but it looks like the majority of ur video inventory is all of those "stroke your ego" types. I just looked and it struck me as odd.

Well said, Joe! :iagree:

I've never chased after exotics, or any type of car for that matter. I simply let word of mouth bring in the work and if it has paint, fits in my shop, and the owner is willing to pay my rate, then I'm more then happy to work on it. :dblthumb2:

The above being said, I still enjoy working on 60's and 70's muscle cars the most. :)
