For those of you who are not aware, there was a shooting on the Canadian Parliament grounds today in which a soldier died as a result of gunshots while on duty guarding the War Monument. There were multiple shootings at multiple locations. It sounds like one of the shooters was shot and killed by a police officer. God Bless that soldier and my deepest condolences to that soldier's family

That is a shame. Glad that there are men willing to stand guard all over the world to help keep it a safer place. Sorry to hear about that young man.

Really hard to get my head around this one...sad, senseless. Maybe better said is, "What the $#@$?!"

My condolences to the family.

A huge "attaboy" to the Sergeant at Arms!

Thanx for posting this Richy.

It looks to me that radicalism and terrorism is extending from one industrial nation to another, and unfortunately seem to become more prevalent.

As a Canadian expat I have no choice but to be heart broken by these recent news and do offer my condolences to all impacted (family, friends etc...). Let's pray that those random occurrences do not become regular occurrences.

we were all on lockdown for part of the day yesterday because of the events... I drive by there every day to get to work... felt really weird this morning

shooter was a 32yo with a troubled past, that recently converted to a radical islam view, another brainwashed willing to die for an ideology.

Sad day indeed in Ottawa...
