I feel like this has surely been covered and if so, I apologize, but I can't find it specifically. This is my first paint, cut and polish job (motorcycle tank and fender) and I just purchased a Griot's Garage 3 Inch Random Orbital and want to use Meguier's M105, M205, and Show Car Glaze. What would be the best 3 inch 3 pad set (cut, polish, glaze) to use with the Griot since Meguier's doesn't offer a 3 inch pad? They don't have to be the same brand if you know the best for each step. Thanks for all your expert advice.

Meguiar's does offer a 3" MF pad. And they have 3.25" (I believe) foam pads that can be found at local autoparts stores and at Walmart type stores.

Look at the Griots pads for the 3". The pad size can be an issue. All the pads that are listed at 3" are actually 2 7/8" which is the same size as the backing plate. The Griots 3" pads are 3". You want a little room between the backing plate and the pad.

The Griots 3" polishing pads are good (orange) - the red ones are too soft to use with any polisher more powerful than a 3" Griots.

Honestly, I would get the new LC 3" flat pads. I done got 'em - but haven't had a chance to use them. Get orange, white, and black.

Lake Country sells 3" Pads, the CCS Pads and Hydro-Tech Pads. They are superior IMO than the GG 3" as I have them too. You can get the Hydro-tech pads from AGO and the 3" CCS pads from a different site as AGO does not carry them. I use the 3" Orange, White and Red Pads for CCS. As for Hydro-tech they are Cyan, Blue and there Red pad (different name than red)

Try those

^ the 3" LC pads from AG are flat pads unless they changed very recently.

Another vote for Lake Country 3" pads.

I was definitely leaning toward the lake country pads from the beginning and that seems to be the building consensus. I have repeatedly heard they are better than the Griot's. Thanks.

With the trend towards smaller machines and pads to go with them, I wonder why AGO does not chose to carry the Lake Country 3" CCS pads?

The 3" is available in 7/8" thickness, whereas the current 4" offering from AGO is the thicker version that, in my opinion does not cut as well as thinner pads in a PC or GG3"
