Hello all,

I recently purchased a used vehicle with scratches near the bottom trim.

The entire car needs to be polished. However, this bottom trim area seems a bit worse than the others.

What do you all recommend to get this looking as best as possible?

Here is a picture. Note the white haze:

Are you talking about the white marks at the bottom of the seam? That honestly looks like polish or wax residue.

That car looks hammered. Could we get some more detail about it, and how you plan to attack it?

The car is actually in pretty good condition besides this spot.

I'm referring to the scratched area. There is a slight white haze to it.

I was going to get a dual action polisher and try that first.

It's hard to tell whether that is just wear and tear or some beginning paint failure. What kind of vehicle and what year?

The area above the seam doesn't look much better than the rocker below--the whole vehicle doesn't look like that?

No it doesn't just that one section. It's a 2009 BMW 135i.

Is that car paint? If so it should clean up just fine as long as the scratches are not too deep. Could be from repeatedly being taken through a brush style car wash.

What does the paint look like on the rest of the car?

First, thanks so much for the reply Mike! I really do appreciate it!

Yes this is car paint. The rest of the car is in need of a polish, but overall, it's not bad at all. It's just one trouble spot.

Do you recommend trying out a dual action polisher on this trouble spot?
