Today I did a detail on a Dodge Ram 1500 SLT Quad Cab Hemi. It was hot out and this truck was massive! Thankfully it was in very good condition so extensive polishing wasn’t needed. It did, however, have a lot of containments which required a lot of claying. It took 4 hours total, 1 hour to do the wheels, tires, wash & dry, ½ hour to clay, 1 hour for the interior, 1 ½ hours to polish and wax. So even though it was a big truck it didn’t take forever. I tried out my original technique of spit shining. I misted a fine mist of OCW on the panel and then with the PC and a finishing pad I worked in some Collinite #845. This resulted in a very reflective, glossy and very clear finish. Don’t ask how or why it can be glossy and clear at the same time … but it is :). Very cool.

Process:
Wash with Goldclass & Ulti-mitt
Stuf Clay
SSR1, polishing pad, UDM
OCW & Collinite #845

Budman, how or why it can be glossy and clear at the same time? J/K:D
Awesome job indeed. She has a beautiful deep reflections for being a light color, that's hard to do.

Thanks everyone.

Joe- The tires got Meguiar's Hot Shine in the pump sprayer. It's not overly shiney but not matte either. It is silicone based, doesn't brown and keeps the tires looking black for a long time.

Sparkie- :). I guess it's either just my imagination or has something to do with how you look at it. It's weird because I did a simlar process (OCW & Natty's or P21S) and had the same glossy / clear look.

Nica- I started at 10 and left at 2. It would have taken another hour or so if I had to use a stronger polish. Thankfully I was able to clean the paint up with SSR1 and didn't have to take forever polsihing it.
