So if I don't bother with a coating, I'll continue using a dressing. I like hyper dressing. Whats your opinion on megs water based dressing compared to hyper dressing

I think he means
Meguiars Water Based Dressing 128 oz., vinyl and rubber dressing, dash dressing, engine dressing (http://www.autogeek.net/water-based-vinyl-dressing.html)
vs.
Meguiars D170 Hyper Dressing (http://www.autogeek.net/meguiars-hyper-dressing.html)

CG's Bare Bones works well. I'm assuming your asking because of winter approaching. I heard a rumor years ago that one of the popular national chains of automotive undercarriage treatment stores used transmission fluid to protect the undercarriages of customers cars.

I like them both. To me Hyperdressing being dilutable to 4:1 is the only advantage. I think WBD is only capable of 1:1

I try to be economical when I can.
I also don't like the real shiny, glossy look.
So...
For me D170:
Does make 4 gallons, diluted @ 4:1
$43.00---currently on sale @ $31.00
For me D171:
Would make 2 gallons, diluted @ 1:1
$30.00---currently on sale @ $21.00
On sale:
D170 = $31/4 = $7.75 gal.
D171 = $21/2 = $10.50 gal.

Wouldn't that be 5 gallons of D170 Bob?
And here is a couple questions for those that use D170.
Have any of you been using it for years on the same vehicle?
Does the trim you use it on still look new or is it fading out?

•Thanks...{I was add-led brain for a moment :doh:}
-At that ratio: Even more economical! :props:
(Why...It's almost like they're giving it away!)
•After all the of the time that I've been using D170:
-None of my vehicles' plastic trim looks faded out.
-Off-hand: I can't think of any reasons why anyone else's should either.

I have used both and was not a fan of the Water-Based Dressing. It did work ok, but just didn't have the penetration of HyperDressing. Plus with the cost and flexibility of the Hyper Dress - It's my go to for 80% of dressing needs. The other 20% is Megs Tire & Trim and All Season for wheel wells, ect...

they're both water based, HD can be diluted up to 4:1 (i like using it at 3:1), and WBD up to 1:1...
