How do you keep the grit guard from floating up to the top????

Take it out and use as mini table for supplies....thats what I did:D. I haven't used a grit guard in a long time, never saw any advantage as if you stir the water up anyway, dirt particles are still going to get away from the guard. But I don't let the water get dirty, rinse shmitt off quickly then dunk again = no dirt in bucket.
Somebody mentioned using some putty a long time ago, to hold the guards down.

I have a 5 gallon bucket from home depot with a lid.
It is almost clear and has markings for liters on one side and gallons on the other.
My grit gaurd just wedges down in nice and snug.

It fits nice and snug on the bottom of my bucket. Lowes has some nice 5 gallon buckets -5 bucks with a foam covered handle.

Yea, I looked at that bucket too from Lowes. Good bucket with measurement markings on it. Nice for getting the right amount of water in it.

I throw 4 golf balls in the bucket. Holds it down fine.
I have the Lowe's 5 gallon painters buckets, it's a bit see through with blue letters on it. Fits perfectly and never floats.
I am still wondering if it really works though, I never see any dirt on the bottom of my bucket!

I washed, clayed, and waxed my wife's car last weekend. It was very dirty. I put the Grit Guard in the rinse bucket. There was some dirt there. For 8 or 9 dollars, it is cheap insurance that the dirt gets off the mitt.

I have the Wolfgang bucket and it came with a grit guard. I cut the legs off a little bit so I can use less water yet the guard is still effective. It doesn't float because it gets wedged into the bucket...
You could glue on some weights to keep it down... :)

I twist it around in the water so that the air bubbles will come off. I just shake it until it stays :-D

Wedge it it should fit SNUG in the Bottom - A couple of large rubber bands streched around the Fins will snug it up also.
