customer wants to pay a trim shop $150 to recover this. I told him about DupliColor vinyl and fabric paint. they do make yellow. I thought about seeing if I could do it for him, but don't want to waste the money on a can if its not good stuff. I use it on carpet all the time, but never a steering wheel. anybody have experience with it on a wheel?

Being that is a leather wrapped steering wheel on that Chev/GM truck...I'd give a 'leather worker' a call.

They may very well have a true leather dye (and technique) to permanently color that wheel.

I wouldn't get involved for the simple reason the different leather colorants I've tried never last on areas that see frequent wear. So, while the results may initially look good - you may get a call in a few months the guy's hands are turning yellow.

How did this turn out?

I am also very interested in seeing some before and afters of the Duplicolor Carpet and Fabric Paint

Craft Customs - Leather and Wood Grain Steering Wheels - Wood Dashes (http://www.craftcustoms.com/index.htm)

Or

Leather Steering Wheel Covers Manufacturer and Distributor (http://wheelskins.com)

I've acually used this one and installed in myself, turned out great. A steering wheel, I'd think would be that last thing you want to paint.
