Most of us can't do this because there's vinyl or some other material covering the dash. But back in the old days they were steel and often times custom cars have custom painted dashes... like this old 1941 Chrysler....

The paint on the console and in and around the buttons is pretty swirled out and removing the swirls would require working by hand and it would be incredibly time consuming.

I could have just wiped the dash and console down with a spray detailer but to bring up the gloss and clarity a little I opted to use the Griot's Garage 3" Mini Polisher with the new Menzerna PP Ultra.

Ya know...when reading (and seeing) Mike's post, I am reminded of how 'back in the day', we'd polish and wax the dash to the shine of a new penny. But, we never had a problem with the nasty reflections off the windshield we have now.

Is/was it because of the angle of the nowadays windshield, or we just didn't notice it?

Mike did you tried PP Ultra on paint.

It`s awesome product, it has a litle cut, removes holograms, offers durable protection. What we can ask more than this one.

In some cases I used after FG400, one step less with SF4000, removes holograms quickly, and offers protection.

Also... the dash you see in this thread? That's clearcoat paint, so again.. "yes" I've used this product on paint. :D

That's the new Menzerna PP Ultra and I machine jewelled the paint using it and the black Hybrid pad you see on the Flex 3401 in the pictures.

I agree. I love this product. Allow me to coin a new term...

Jewelling Wax


Traditionally a one-step cleaner/wax is for undoing the damage to the paint on a neglected car.

This new product is a lot more special than that... when I used it, I wasn't UNDOING damage, I was removing any light haze from the aggressive orange LC Hybrid CUTTING pad and and polishing or jewelling the paint to a crystal clear high gloss finish.

No I dare say I don't consider the new PP Ultra to be another cleaner/wax on the shelf with all the other cleaner/waxes but something much different, much better and I can't wait till others get their hands on this new product, start using it and vindicate me.

Some thoughts on PP Ultra.

For just 3 months I learned a lot here at autogeek and in the end I decided to use MENZERNA PRODUCTS.

Then I got my MENZERNA PRODUCT and started working with them.

First car was to remove holograms in just compounded car (from another detailer) and in this one tried PP Ultra on Rotary and Medium Pad. I was able to remove holograms wery quickly with this combination.

Second one in very oxidased car, just clay bar and PP Ultra on medium pad, day and night diference, here I understood that PP Ultra has a really good cut.

And then third on was very swirled and scratched car, here I corrected the car with FG400 on Wool Pad, and the second step was PP Ultra.

I think this is awesome with just 2 steps to have corrected, polished and protected finish, the 2nd step with PP Ultra I can`t even count like a step, it takes no more than 1 or max 2 hours to finish this step.

I`m going to work with this concept, start with least aggressive combination and find what will work, for Ex FG400, PF2500 or SF4000 and then finish with PP Ultra.

My next Polishes that I want to have in my arsenal are Sonax Perfect Finish and Bigfoot System.
