Hello, can someone please tell me if a 4 3/8" backing plate would be worth my while when I already own a 4" bp for my flex?
Does a 4 3/8" bp open any new doors? My guess is no, but I want to make sure before I close the door on it.

Only if you wanted to use 5" pads.

Dear,

I'll not say it's essential as the 4" plate, but it has it's value. For 5"-5.5" flat, CCS, pads, I've used Meguiar's Microfiber pads with it as well, and even Rupes 6" pads (which has 5" velcro, too small for standard backing plate, too large for 4" plate).

It opens new doors, I don't use it a lot, but I like having the option, every car is different and it may have it's use in many situations.

I too own a 4 3/8" BP for the flex and use it with 5.5" pads. I will also be getting the LC BP system to enable use with 4" pads.

If you are simply looking after your own vehicle it may be a waste, but if you detail lots of different cars and already own 5.5" pads, it would be worth getting if your budget allows.
