So I decided to wash the top of it with a cloth/napkin because it was dusty and grimy and than it turned out worrse... it turned to a white blotch faded color. How can I get the black color back?

It looks like this.

You indicated washing the top of the car but posted photos of an automatic shift....We also need a bit of help to understand you correctly.

The first picture is the top of my shift that I washed.

Ahhh, OK! I thought you were referring to the top of the car!

To me it looks like only some of the grime and residue came off. Shift levers become pretty grimy over time due to the dirt, moisture, soda, oils etc. If you can scrape off more using your fingernail then more cleaning is necessary.

I would try some all purpose cleaner on a tooth brush. This keep things locally and does a great job dissolving all the foreign dirt and debris.

Once you're satisfied use an interior treatment such as Wolfgang's Cockpit & Trim Sealant (http://www.autogeek.net/wolfgang-cockpit-trim-sealant.html)for a rich black look...
