Hello everyone. I'm Darrell. Originally from Orange, TX but currently residing in Lakewood, WA. I've been in the Army for 11 years now and it's time to make a change. After trolling a wide variety of detailing forums. I've decided that instead of making only my car look good, why not share the wealth. With that being said I'm here to get as much info as I possibly can to start detailing everything I can that has paint on it. Not only that, detailing puts me in a state of peace. I also enjoy the look of my work. I'd like to apologize in advance for any dumb questions I may ask.

Remember, the only stupid question is the one that's not asked....

Starting Off

Everyone starts off as a beginner but with some reading, questions, and trial, error, and practice you'll be amazed how much you'll be able to do. After reading and understanding some of the basics, the more hands on, the quicker you'll build your knowledge and gain experience.

This link will take you to some fabulous articles written by Mike Phillips.

Articles by Mike Phillips (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/ask-expert-featuring-mike-phillips/23722-articles-mike-phillips.html)

Basic steps in order are:

Wash
Clay
Paint Correction & Polish
Seal
Wax

Make detailing enjoyable and practice. Take your time and do not become overwhelmed. Just because there are a thousand products doesn't mean you have to use them all.
