Anyone order this stuff before?

Blue 3m clay?

Is it ok for soft lexus paint?

Are you planning on polishing the car afterwards?

I have not used the specific clay you are referring to, however, unless it is an ultrafine clay (or maybe even fine), it is likely to cause some marring on your soft paint.

If you do plan on polishing afterward (recommended) then perhaps the issue of marring is not really that important, as you will remove it during polishing anyway.

I have used this before.
It is actually made in China - you know what I mean.
It works ok but do leave quite a lot of clay residue and marr soft paint found on most Toyota.

no I do not plan to polish the car afterwards.

My claying technique is very light pressure and soapy water.
Then rinse and wax.

You think it would still mar the paint?

I currently use Meguiar's white clay, but clay in the USA is a big rip off.
If anyone has used both this blue clay and meg's white clay, please chime in a comparison

It's funny, I thought between the patent expiration and the explosion of clay substitutes that clay prices would drop, but I was wrong.

However, I did see this on the "What's New" page, seems like a good deal: Special Value Clay Combo (http://www.autogeek.net/bulk-detailing-clay.html)

In the past I bought clay off of eBay. It was like $4 shipping included. It worked well. Then I got a clay towel (not Nanoskin) off of eBay. It works well too. A couple of months ago I found some genuine Clay Magic clay at Kmart on clearance. Bottom line for me is they have all worked.
