2003 Honda S2000 - Paint Enhanced & Coated with Cquartz UK

A good friend of mines cousin was looking at getting his 2003 Honda S2000 detailed since last winter. After various scheduling conflicts the time finally came to detail this mint s2k. The owner was looking to enhance the paint and protect it with a nano ceramic paint coating.

Sorry in advance for the lack of during pictures as I was limited in time to perform this detail.

Exterior:
Wheels: Griots Heavy Duty Wheel Cleaner with various brushes
Tires: Zep Formula 505 Cleaner & Degreaser
Wheel Wells: Zep Citrus Cleaner (4:1)
Pre-wash: CG Citrus Wash & Gloss via foam cannon
Wash: CG Citrus Wash & Gloss via 2 Bucket Method
Decontamination 1: CarPro Trix
Decontamination 2: Nanoskin Autoscrub Speedy Prep Sponge (Fine)
Dry: Waffle Weave Towels
Tape: 3m Automotive Tape
Paint Thickness: Taken using Digital Coating Thickness Gauge
Polish: HD Polish w/ White Buff n Shine Pads via Rupes LHR15ES (5.5” pads) and GG6 (4” pads)
Surface Prep: CarPro Eraser
Paint Protection: CarPro Cquartz UK
Glass Protection: CarPro Flyby30
Wheel Protection: Blackfire Crystal Seal
Tire Dressing: Optimum Optibond
Trim Dressing: Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant
Glass: Sonax Clear Glass via Glass Towel
Exhaust Polishing: Optimum Metal Polish

Interior:
Vacuum: Shop Vac
Trim & Door Jams, Carpet, Seats: Steam cleaned
Vinyl / Plastic Protection: Wolfgang Cockpit Trim Sealant
Glass: Sonax Clear Glass via Glass Towel

Engine Bay:
Engine Components: Zep Citrus Cleaner (4:1) with various brushes
Engine Dressing: Sonus Trim & Motor Kote

Total Time: 8 Hours

When the vehicle arrived it was a little dirty but I was surprised at the overall condition. This car is mint and a great example of a well kept completely factory car.

The interior was very well kept with only the odd trace of dirt and some dust.

I started with the wheels, tires and wheel wells first because they are the dirtiest.

Once the wheels were washed it was time to foam the vehicle, perform a 2 bucket wash, chemically decontaminate the paint, mechanically decontaminate the paint and completely dry the vehicle. The sun was setting fast so i never got a chance to get pictures. In fact, the 50/50 shots were tough to capture because of the silver color. Here is a 50/50 shot of the door. If you look closely you can see how the paint is enhanced after polishing.

Once the whole vehicle was polished the vehicle was prepped with CarPro Eraser and CarPro Cquartz UK was used to protect the paint. This paint coating offers at least 2 years of protection and has amazing hydrophobic properties and gloss.

The damage was permanent in that spot. Looks like something that was rubbing on it that wore into the material.

I stated which products I used at the beginning of the write up.

I used White Buff n Shine Pads with HD Polish. The LSP I used was Carpro Cquartz UK.
