Their strength. Killr's classic example of pb ssr 2.5 and 1. You use the 2.5 to get rid of the swirls, and the ssr 1 to j-ewel the surface (like a diamond):awesome:

all polishes vary in degree of abrasiveness. A compound is the most abrasive polish, and a finishing polish is the lightest. SSR, or swirl removers are just a fancy name for polishes also.

Compounds --- Optimum Hyper Compound, Menzerna Power Gloss
Abrasive Polish 3 (highly abrasive) -- XMT 3, SSR 3.0
Medium Polishes -- Megs DACP , Menzerna IP, Poorboys 2.5, XMT 2, Optimum Polish
Finishing Polishes -- Poorboys 1.0 SSR, Menzerna FP, XMT 1

Oop,s guess I won't have a finishing polish, any otc one I can use until my next order?Didn't you have Optimum Polish? It finishes down very nicely on the white Edge pad. I used some friends MFP and noticed no difference.
