White or Black pad for paint cleansing/prep before sealant

Hi all,

Wanted to get your take on whether I should use a black or white pad when applying either Pinnacle Paint Cleansing Lotion or Ultima Paint Prep Plus prior to applying a sealant.

The paint is in excellent shape and in the past I have washed, clayed, and used a white pad before applying the sealant. I am just wondering if the white pad is necessary as it doesn't need any correction and not sure of the white pad is unnecessary and will continue to remove clear coat.

When doing the dp paint coating I used the dp prep polish on a black pad and that was 5 months ago the first time I used that coating product on a vehicle and it's still holding strong on an outdoor stored daily driver. I also did an Ipa wipe down prior to the prep polish.

Any "finishing" pad with no cut will do.
