Collinite Marque D'Elegance & Other Wax/Sealant Recommendations

Hi Everyone

So hope I'm posting in the right section, if not apologies. What are your thoughts on Collinite 915 and also which products would you recommend for LSP's? I'm really after awesome looks as a primary requirement, followed by durability, ease of use or scent etc is not a factor.

I am relatively new here myself and can only offer my most recent experience using these products. Although my experience is not extensive my opinion may prove useful to you as our experience level with these products and their application is likely similar.

I recently purchased Collinite 476, 845, and 915. All are excellent waxes and have amazing looks and durability. I have found none superior to the others on all applications. Each has it's "best"use in my humble opinion.

If the vehicle you are detailing is dark colored clear coat then 915 is hard to beat as far as looks and durability. It's a very hard flakey paste wax that can be difficult to apply and remove.

There are multiple how-tos on this forum for application of Collinite waxes. I would definetly read those before you get started.

The 845 is very easy to apply and remove and produces excellent results on light or dark colors. The durability is slightly less than the other two paste waxes but is similar in most other respects.

The 476 doublecoat is excellent for light colored clear coats. It's bulletproof and has an excellent shine. I have put this on 3-4 vehicles now and each person is in love with how their vehicle looks.

Anything offered in the Collinite family of products is a time tested performer that will give you excellent results time and time again. I highly recommend them.:props:

Thanks, I have tried 845 and 915 however just want to verify if my findings are on par with others that have too, or they might have had vastly different experiences with it.

915 seems to give me a glossier shine than anything else I've used and not just on dark colours.

Thanks friend, am looking for that little bit extra and I know 90% is in the prep, but from an lsp point of view, looking for something that would give me an edge. I currently have:

Meguiars Deep Crystal Carnauba wax, Gold, Ultimate Liquid wax
Auto Magic Strawberry
Menzerna Power Lock
Collinite 845 & 915

Am looking at purchasing:
Finish Kare 2685 Pink wax
Finish Kare 1000P
Detailers Pro Max Wax
S100
Dodo Juice Hard Candy

I would like to purchase Pinnacle Souveran and Wolfgang Fuzion too to try out but my currency/exchange rate Rand/$ is 10.75 to 1, and that excludes shipping etc.

NINE FIFTEEN IS NOT HARD TO APPLY AND REMOVE!

I'm NOT new here and I hear this all the time and it needs to stop, seriously! If #915 is hard to remove its because your applying it "1970's style", meaning more is better and thus turning the paint white with so much wax laid down.

Same holds true for #476 Double Coat!

I've applied all 3 of the Collinite products 3 different ways w/ NO issues in removal. The first was per directions, wipe on and then wipe off. I then applied it to the entire car AND THEN REMOVED, once again, NO issues! Finally I applied the product to the entire car and let it sit for an entire day, then removed the next the day and again, NO ISSUE WITH REMOVAL!

Some people read this and turn away from Collinite and nothing is further from the truth, period! All 3 Collinite LSP's are excellent products, "old school" in their packaging, name and smell but none of that matters one bit, its all about results, not the smell, not the goofy play on word name and certainly not the hype!

Wow very well said and I concur with everything you said. In the pics above I had just completed waxing with 915 by hand with a foam pad and I applied to the entire car and let it sit 45 minutes thereafter removing without breaking a sweat! I thought I did something wrong because I read its difficult to remove, glad we both see no mess no fuss :dblthumb2:

Car looks great. The look of a wax is always superseded by a proper polish job. As the wax or sealant only adds a tiny bit to the overall look. Seems you nailed it as the pics look great.

That being said... I have over 150 different waxes and find myself reaching for 915 rather often. Now I'm not going to lie, I'll admit I have a wax addition. If I only could use one wax, 915 would be in consideration for that one wax.

Glad I'm not the only one that thinks 915 is a true show car wax with durability! I read its only great on black or dark colours but luckily I decided to try it myself as it added considerable depth, gloss and wet look over my previous lsp's mentioned including my other fave 845. 915 works brilliantly on all colours.

I've used 915 and its a great wax. I'm thinking the formula may have had periodic updates over the years - possibly explaining why some say its hard to remove. "Old" wax that has some of the solvents evaporate over time can also be harder to work with.

However, 915 is a really good wax @ any price.

What about topping 845 with either 915 or 476? Overkill?

I have tried topping 845 with 915, the looks definately improved on the said car, seems like which ever product I use last, the paint takes on that look, as for durability I can only but assume one would get the added durability of both waxes combined, but I'm still learning, the more experienced guys will know better.
