Small area polishing question

Hi,

I'm just learning all the aspects of removing swirls and polishing and I own a PC 7424, but I have a question.

In the areas where I can't use the PC, talking about side mirrors and thin strips of paint like the 'A' pillar, etc. Do you have a special technique or is this just done with a foam pad and the same swirl and polish removers?

BTW, I'm using the Wolfgang family of products.

Your PC will spin 3" pads using a 2 7/8" backing plate

Just so I understand, even on these very curvy small areas? Is there a special technique? A lot of the pad will not be touching the area and it would be difficult to work the product with any kind of section pass. Let's us the side mirrors as an example.

You may be over thinking this

There are times on convex surfaces like mirrors, where the entire pad is not on the surface. It still performs fine

You will find few areas that are too concave to get good results with a 3" pad

Sometimes hand polishing is the only option. Mike Phillips has some good threads on the technique
