It felt sticky while on the paint, and when I pressed it lightly onto the paint it let some residue behind. Has anyone ever seen this before?

Just to clarify, I was asking because it is normal on first use. The sponge should be broken in on glass first to remove the coating.

No have used it on atleast 3 cars before this one.

ONR

its not maring because I can lightly place it on the paint and press with light tap and it feels as if its glued to the paint.

Is there a possible there was some kind of chemical on the car or somehow managed to get on the sponge. Other than that the only thing I can think of is heat???

Nothing on car, I used the red sponge and it was perfectly fine. Really weird, idk if I should bother buying another one?

Did you ever expose the sponge to any All Purpose Cleaner? Maybe clean it with All Purpose?

No, but curious what would happen? would it mess with the properties of the sponge?

They do this if the panel temp is above approx 115°.

I heard from Garry Dean that All Purpose Cleaner will disintegrate the sponge. He was using the bigger sponge but the black material looks similar.

My Nanoskin has worked fine with ONR. However, not so much with tar remover. I thought I would combine CarPro Trix w/ the Nanoskin to quickly wipe out tar. Bad idea. The Nanoskin seems vulnerable to moderate organic solvents - Tarminator, WD40, tire dressings, "Black Wow" types of plastic/vinyl dressings, possibly IPA - anything like this will not play well with a Nanoskin.

I use a Speedy Prep "clay" towel, which uses a rubber technology for decontamination (is that what nanoskin uses?) I did my whole car 2 times with it. Then, when I did my mom's car it left behind marks that are strikingly similar to the ones you have. I used a ton of detail spray, so lubrication was not the problem. I always rinsed with only water to clean it. Idk if it is at the end of it's run or what...is that what happens when the rubber gets worn down?

This has happened to me before I think the rubber part is getting worn out . I have used my nano skin clay mitts for about a year and the last few cars I detailed had a spot that looked marred. And going over it didn't do anything so had to bust out the clay bar to remove and it worked but yea this has happened to me I'm guessing it's getting worn out ? But still world great only when i apply pressure it'll leave something behind
