Im looking for a new metal polish, specifically to use on rims and exhaust tips. I need something that I can use on all metals, including clear coated ones. It doesnt need to have any sealant properties because I will be topping the wheels with DP wheel glaze or Jetseal. Ill be using it with my Mothers power ball. I need something that WORKS and damn well.

Would like to hear from those who have actually used it, not just heard about it. Would love to see pictures too!

Ive been using Crystal Image All Surface Cleaner, but cant find it anymore. Which is a shame because it worked damn well.

Yeah, I was looking at the WG stuff. Main problem is it cant be used on clear coated metals, only bare ones.

Well, it looks like Wenol blue is the best for all metals including painted, coated, chrome, stainless steel, and aluminum. I think Ill get some of that, and English polishes for chrome and aluminum.

someone please school me on this, I would have thought that a metal surface that is clearcoated would call for a product more geared towards clearcoat, such as the regular polishes we all use for our paint? is this not the case?

I thought that wenol polishes are not suited for clear coated finishes......hummm.

Wenol Blue is, "Wenol Blue gently cleans coated metals and leaves a lustrous shine."

In general a metal polish has no bearing on a clearcoated (Painted with unpigmented paint) as it will never touch the metal. A metal polish is typically used to remove tarnish from chromes, aluminums, brass, and other bare metals. The Wenol Blue must use a combination of light abrasives (that can be used on paint) and different chemical makeup as to not strip clearcoat like the solvents in metal polishes would.

A true metal polish will scar a clearcoat for life, and take on a clouded appearance.
