I'm very new to machine polishing and only do my personal vehicles and vehicles on the farm. I've tried a few things on this tractor over the past year and nothing has taken out the dullness or oxidation.
A little background this is a case ih 210 tractor that I use for spreading high salt fertilizer. It sits outside most of the summer and during the winter it is on the snowblower. It doesn't get washed as much as it should.
The hood was oxidized and very faded. I'm using a GG6 and thought I needed a heavy cut polish like 105 and a microfiber pad first. It didn't work well at all. Then I remember reading a post from Richy saying use a yellow pad, get it wet, spin it, and use 205. I was amazed how it worked. With my inexperience I don't know all the terminology but I thought it allowed me a long working time and zero dusting.
I'll let the pics speak for themselves.
Thanks for all the help with products and techniques, by the way the boss was impressed which doesn't happen very often.
