I got my hands on a 3M branded, 3" Pneumatic Polisher with a 10mm stroke.

Super Smooth machine. Lots of Power. Used it on some thin pillars on a Mercedes CLS500. Fun.

I do not see it on the 3M website, but it looked just like this one:

3M Polisher 28363, 75 mm Diameter M17-1.5 Internal (http://3mcollision.com/products/tools/random-orbital-sanders/3m-polisher-75mm-diameter-28363.html)

It is my understanding that the machine is actually manufactured by Rupes.

The stroke of 10mm is in the same location as the above pictured polisher

Is it just me or is that the exact same symbol on the Rupes stuff:

Rupes LHR 75 Mini random orbital polisher (http://www.rupestool.com/p/us/en/0248084485416)

I wonder why they went with 10mm orbit as opposed to the 15mm of the Rupes machine?

I wonder what the pricing will be vs Rupes?

Wow that does look exactly like the Rupes one.

I remembererer incorrectly....it is actually a 15mm stroke

Didn't "feel" like it was that long of a stroke. Very stable

It is an "Air Hog" though:

3M still has a strong presence at body shops, I wonder if Rupes just relabeled the machine to catch the attention of body shops with the 3M label.
