Menzerna SF4000 vs Gtechniq P1/P2

I'm looking polish (hand application) for a sliver car, with soft paint and few hairline scratches. I wont mind if polish wont make all the scratches go away as long as it leaves with good finish. I zeroed on Menzerna SF 4000. While talking to retailer, he suggested that I go for Gtechniq's P1 and P2 combo. Which is better Menzerna or Gtechniq?

I would go with Menzerna sf4000 the reason begin is it's abrasives take longer to break down therefore snice doing the work by hand will give you a bit of more work time to get decent end results

IMO, if you are working by hand, you should go with a SMAT product that does not require "breaking down" the abrasives, as this can be difficult without a DA.

I would suggest Meguiars Ultimate Polish, meguiars car polish, meguiars polishes, mcguire's (http://www.autogeek.net/meguiars-ultimate-polish.html) (sp). If there are some isolated deeper scratches, I would also pick-up Meguiar's Ultimate Compound (http://www.autogeek.net/meguiars-ultimate-compound.html). Both are available on AGO and over the counter at most auto parts stores and major retailers (Wal-Mart)

If you are going to be doing the entire vehicle; I suggest investing in some hand applicator pads (http://www.autogeek.net/hydro-3-pack.html) that are designed for the task

Can someone give me rough idea how much (in ML) quantity of polish is required for polishing a hatchback that require little correction/nothing major?

Menzerna SF 4000 here is only available in 32 Oz bottle. Since I will polishing by hand, I doubt I will be able to do it more than once a year. Gtechniq P1 and P2 is available in 100 ML bottle. Thats another problem I'm facing, shelf life of the product.

Will the buying menzerna 32 Oz bottle make sense? Will it last long if kept properly?

I will say this, I don't know much about polishing stuff. But when I started looking for polish, I wanted to buy Nano polish. From what I 've read, nano polish fills the paint better than convention polish. Thats only reason why I was looking at nano polish. Any polish, working on it by hand will always be long process. I was only looking at quality product.
Buying a Flex DA will be a dream, that into the future, right now, hand polishing is the only option.

Could you please explain more about "breaking down" the abrasives?? What it is and how it works??

Working Menzerna SF4000 by hand while it is possible will be extremely hard work to do it properly. If I have to work by hand, I would prefer something easier like a Autoglym SRP, Optimum GPS, Poorboy polish and seal etc.

Working by hand, SRP is your best friend. Ultimate compound, if you want to develop some biceps and triceps. Gtechniq polishes are very dry even when used by machine.

P1 is water based and pad dependent..a spritz of water is required to reactivate the polish when buffing.

Plus one...and you could use detail spray to wake that sleeping compound up thus gives you more product without applying more at that very moment
