Hey everyone I'm detailing my dads 2010 Acura MDX and I'm having troubles cleaning up the leather. I'm using the Lexol cleaner with a toothbrush and it seems to still look dirty. Any ideas of how to clean this up?? Thanks in advance! http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/08/17/vu5y4y5a.jpg

Steam would be your next best move though if there is no steamer available then try apc and brush be sure to work in small sections

The MDX is filled with vinyl. Very little is actually leather. What area is this? Also, Lexol is not very strong for something like this. I use D101 at a little less than 10:1 and it works for my mother's MDX. Remember, almost everything is vinyl.

:iagree: with a soft (boar's hair) brush work small areas into a nice lather, dirt will lift right out

I'll have to order some of that D101 and a brush. It's on the drivers seat that I'm running into the issue. Thanks!

Definitely dump the toothbrush, you'll be there all year. And if you do use an APC diluted, go gently with the different brush & let the soap do the work. A nail brush for manicures works well too; you can get one at Sally's beauty shops.

Although Meguiar's QID is a nice product it only has light cleaning ability. If you want some recommendations for some over the counter products then I recommend the following

Meguiar's Leather Sealer System. My local autozone carries it.

Mothers leather wash and leather cream is another that I like. I have seen it at pep boys and Walmart.

^ Not sure, I would use that more for maintenance type work. Or for a detail job that one got and they paid for an interior quick clean up/wipe down.

For the leather, what I found works great is using Meguiar's APC to clean up the leather, with either a towel or brush (gently)

After I use Meguiar's Leather Cleaner and Conditioner. To rejuvenate/re moisten the leather.

I imagine it like human skin, when dirty, one goes and jumps in the shower, uses soap and scrubs the dirt away. Then after they are out they dry themselves and puts on lotion to condition their skin.

Thanks for the info! I'll just tell my dad that I'll do the seats when my new products arrive.

D101, 3D APC or Optimum Power Clean are all great choices! I recommend scrubbing with a tooth brush and a terry cloth towel.

Awesome video! Thanks for that. What conditioner do you guys recommend then? I have always used Meguiars but recently picked up a sample Lexol kit. In my VW and my moms BMW I was satisfied with the results but it barely touched any of the dirt in my dad's Acura.

That is why I posted the Meguiar's sealer system. Comes with everything you need. The cleaner and the sealer.

I've used Optimum Power Clean at 4:1 on Acura MDX leather and it came out clean as new each time. One of them the leather was light gray and very dirty. I used OPC and a super soft cyclo brush on my PC, worked great.
