I currently have a Griots polisher and want to get more pads. I was looking at buying the 5 in backing plate and some pads. I wanted to know if I ordered the six pad kit which colors (types) would you guys recommend. Currently I have one orange, white, and black in six inch size CCS pads. They are looking a little worn out and need to be replaced. Thanks for the feedback.

This is just me but normally, I keep pairs of whatever pad I have so I could rest the other one while the other one is at work. This is to, somehow, allow some heat the the middle area to dissipate, hence, prolonging the service life of the pads.

At minimum I would get 2 of these of each.

Don't know if this would be unnecessary for you, but "I" would get some of these too for when I need to get more aggressive.

Actually, I have been doing some work with another detailer lately and he really likes using the Meguiar's MF system.

I think in the beginning I really didn't care for it to much. However, I think the more I've been using it lately, I have been becoming better and better with the system...

so maybe something like this?

Lastly, I wonder if you could get away with a combo like this? I know I don't use the waxing/finishing pads as much as a cutting pad & polishing pad.

So then you could get 3 of each and just use or old finishing pad to apply wax or just apply wax by hand. (If it's not to damaged and safe for the paint to do so.)

The orange, white, and black CCS pads seem to be a classic line up. I might augment that a bit and try orange, green, and blue.

I just got the pink one. I believe that is similar to my green Hex Logics, which I love. If it turns out similar, I'll probably have a pink, green, and blue line up. If I need something more aggressive, I'll use the yellow one. I've only ever used that pad a couple times though.

Seems a lot of guys aren't into the CCS pads, but I really like them.

I am always surprised with what the White CCS pad can do

I have paired it with FG400, Wolfgang TSR, Blackfire TPS and even Wolfgang FG...got great results with each...on different paints

Although Microfiber may cut more/faster (not necessarily this order) than foam, it's always a good idea to have a FOAM cutting pad, I'd not skip it.

Giving the same conditions, products and paint being worked, foam pads are likely to promote a better finish when compared to MF (not a rule!, but it's likely).

However, even getting foam cutting, polishing and finishing pads, I'd also not skip the MF discs. They are awesome, and will give you more cut when needed.

Kind Regards.

I personally am done with the CCS pads. Im going to go try the Buff & Shine pads. When I order I will also be getting the 6pack.

2 Orange
3 White
1 Blue

I have found myself personally doing more AIO's than 2 or 3 step corrections that is why I would pick what I am going to.
