I have a meguiars g110v2. I am loving every moment of it except for the fact that I cannot mark the backing plate with a sharpie to see it rotate. Can anybody give me a suggestion for a yellow backing plate that I could use with my meguiars so I can also mark with a sharpie?

They have one in silver that is beyond permanent! Works great for marking steel also.

I've used white 'paint brush written text correction ink' (whatever it may be called in english ahahah), worked flawless. White nail polish may also work.

We call that White Out or Liquid Paper here...Bill will work it out.

Mark your backing plate to make it easy to see if it's rotating or not... (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/tricks-tips-techniques/40950-mark-your-backing-plate-make-easy-see-if-s-rotating-not.html)

Place a mark on your backing plate like this,

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/data/722/BlackMarkOnBackingPlate.jpg

If you want to remove swirls and scratches the pad needs to rotate on the 5-6 speed setting when firm pressure is applied to the head of the polisher.

To make it easier for your eyes to detect if the pad is truly rotating or simply vibrating or jiggling, place a black mark using a Sharpie Permanent Marker onto the back of the backing plate.

If you have a black backing plate like the Meguiar's W68DA Backing Plate (http://www.autogeek.net/w68-da-backing-plate.html) or the Edge DA Backing Plate (http://www.autogeek.net/damvp5.html), use a light fingernail polish or get a small bottle of white paint sold for painting car models.
