This is my mom's 2000 Nissan Sentra. The car has 126,000 miles and has some serious rust issues on some of the panels from being parked near the beach. The goal was 90% correction. Unfortunately nothing is ever 100% and it's not worth compromising additional clear coat in the process.

The hubcaps were cleaned with 1Z colourtec followed by Meguiars Wheel Brightener. The tires along with the wheel wells were scrubbed with Zep505. Here are some before pictures:

1Z colourtec doing it's job breaking up some iron deposits.

The car did not have any visible contamination as I ran it through the do it yourself pressure wash before driving it back to my house. Unfortunately I did not get more than one shot of the 1Z at work. The heaviest contamination was at the rear.

Next, the car was foamed with a mix of 3D Pink Car Soap and Optimum Power Clean to ensure that there was no wax left behind from the last time this car was detailed (about eight months ago).

I proceeded to do a two bucket wash and brought the car inside for claying. Ultima waterless wash and blue Clay Magic got the surface nice and smooth 😉. Here is what the paint looked like after that step.

**This required wet sanding and was barely visible after it was polished out.

Unfortunately I did not photograph enough due to time constraints. The worst area was the trunk lid. I hit it with HD Adapt on an orange B&S pad with the Flex 3401. I got some decent correction with that combo and decided to use that for the entire vehicle.

Bird bombs can cause some serious irreparable damage!!

The hood was wet sanded in a few areas with 2500 and 3000 grits. There was a bird poop etching that was just too deep to remove completely. My paint thickness gauge came in handy there!

The polishing was done over three days. Approximately 4-5 hours each day. The interior was hit with Optimum Power Clean and Ultima Interior Guard Plus. As for protection, Menzerna Power Lock was applied, buffed off and set to cure for 12 hours. A coat of Collinite 476 was applied after that. The glass was polished with Ceriglass and coated with CarPro Fly by 30. The tires and trim were treated with Ultima Tire and Trim Guard.

Here are some after shots:

Gloss restored back to the side mirrors using the PC and some 4 inch white B&S polishing pads.
