Finally got the nasty 12 year old clear coat and paint stripped off my aluminum wheels and they look great after wet sanding and polishing. Need suggestions on how to protect them...Wax, non-coated wheel treatment products?

I haven't had a set of uncoated wheels in about 12 years. Had a set of billet centerlines. I used to just polish them alot. I have no experience with any of the metal coating products so I can't help much. Hopefully someone has had some experience. I know 22ple has a wheel and metal coating that says it's good on uncoated wheels. Maybe look into some reviews on that?

Some metal polishes, optimum for example, claim some protection.

This Mother's Wax...
Mothers California Gold Pure Carnauba Paste Wax 12 oz. (http://www.autogeek.net/mo5550.html)

Or:
One of the many other non-abrasive Waxes.

Can I ask how you (or anyone) stripped your clear coat off of them? I bought a set of used rims from a guy who had them clear coated and it is peeling in a few small spots. Just wondering how to go about getting it off, or should I even, without damaging the rims.

Thanks! Wow, I didn't think aircraft stripper would be safe, don't know why I thought that though. These are pretty expensive wheels so I'm just nervous to screw them up.
