Based solely on my experience with the Rupes Duetto (which I love!), I'd say the Mini would be awesome.

I run a flex 3401 and a Rupes Mini and am very happy that I decided to pony up the extra for the mini! Well worth it! It's smoother, quieter, more powerful, and user fatigue is pretty much non-existent when compared to all other small polishers.

I purchased a Griot's 3" polisher and what I use it for it does the job well. However, with this comes pad purchases so beware the additional costs involved.

I would up purchasing a refurb elsewhere and for the price I paid if it lasted me 2 years it was worth the $55 I paid for it. I am on year 3. :)

If you want to save money I know the Lake Country Flex Backing plates come in 4" and 7". The 4" is pretty small. If you can spend the $$ The Rupes Mini would be a good choice (I would get that if $$ was not an issue).

I have the PC 7424 XP and it has the 2 7/8" backing plate which can handle 3" Pads. I use that now and extremely happy with that set-up.

^ I also use my old PC 7424 for 3" pads, and my 3401 for everything else.

My PC is great with 3" pads but I would love a Rupes Mini. I have the Duetto and it's great!

the GG6 would be a great choice if you don't already have a traditional style DA (IMO everyone should own at least one). you can smaller pads, wetsand, and use carpet brush attachments and the ergonomics is nice (it's smaller so you can use one hand to apply lsp's) if you don't want to use the flex. if you don't want to spend a lot of money (right around $60), go to HF and pick up their DA...
