I just wanted to say thanks to all that have posted regarding paint corrections and the ton of great videos on this site. I have been a lurker for quite some time and just dabbled a bit in the past with my porter cable. This year I decided to get serious in this area and learn about this process.
So I bought a Flex 3401, some pads and Meguiars 101 and 205 compound and spent countless hours on this site researching and learning.
My paint was in excellent shape, just some very minor swirls from washing over the years. Now I have learned to have a proper wash mitt, two bucket system, grit guard and a foam cannon for proper washing. :xyxthumbs:
I spent 5 hours on the car this weekend and have half of the car completed. Once I am done I will be applying 22PLE or Opti Coat (have not decided yet).
So here is what I had to start with.

Washed it and clayed it and dried it with my new toy from Auto Geek.

My other items purchased from the site during my research.

Preping the car.

Then I went to work first with the 101 and a Lakes Country orange pad, followed directly with the 205 and a LC blue pad. I did not buff off the 101 compound but just worked it until it broke down.
The results are simply amazing! And I am a perfectionist and very particular. The paint is flawless without a single swirl or micro abrasion to be seen. :dblthumb2:

Thanks again to Mike and his Exceptional videos and to all that have contributed to this detailing site. This is hard work and I would not want to do this for my day job!
Now I have to go buy a Rupes 75E for those hard to reach areas. Maybe AOG will cut me a break, I am going in the poor house. ;)
