What is the best Menzerna polish for the highest gloss and defect removal on ceramiclear?

Depends on how much correction you are looking for. If you have fg400 and sf4000 on hand you should be able to tackle 90% of anything. If you are just looking to jewel the finish 4500 may be viable, but it is quite oily.

Get SF4500 that has hardly any cutting ability. SF4000 is great too. I prefer the SF4500 as it brings out the shine from polishing. This is the final step to making you car shiny.

Sealants are the protection layers (glass look) and a wax brings out the "wet look" and "depth". SF4500 (or SF4000) brings out the shine.

At least this is what I do. Others might think I am on crack but again a polish brings out the shine sealants and waxes don't.

Polishing, in the eyes of menzerna, is still a pretty substantial correction step. Finishing is very minor defect removal. You always want to use the least aggressive method so as to maintain clearcoat. Hence, if the paint only needs a little correction, a finishing polish may be appropriate.

Here's a compound/polish "aggressiveness scale":
-Compound (aggressive cut)
-Medium Polish (medium cut)
-Fine Polish (fine cut)
-Ultra Fine Polish (very fine cut/possible finishing polish)
-Pure Polish (no cut/can also be a finishing polish)

In my point-of-view:
If at any time during your paint correction processes that you are satisfied with the results...the last polish that you used can also be called your finishing-polish.

Would you use a gray or white pad with SF4500 or SF4000?

White Lake Country CCS Pad is what I use for SF4500. In some cases (like my ride which is Black). I will use a Black (Grey) Pad as it is softer with no cutting ability or very miniscule cutting ability.

My suggestion is to experiment with SF4500/SF4000. Again, it has very little cutting ability and you shouldn't be able to do any damage to your paint. Even less with a black pad or red pad.

After a heavy compounding session with FG400 and an orange or yellow pad I always use SF4000 on white as it has more pull to it than SF4500 to remove any hazing that FG400 may have left behind while finishing up incredibly well.

For me SF4500 is reserved for one thing only. Use on a black pad or finer to extract the maximum gloss available from the surface. This is of course after the panel or vehicle has been polished with SF4000 on white.
