View Full Version : D101 used in Tornador? Foaming issues?

With the discontinuation of D103 in 1 gal. size and a low stock of D103 I need to find a new APC. I recently purchased the tornador black and gave it a test run and was quite impressed. Therefore I see myself implementing it quite often.

I know D101, OPC, CG All Clean, and Poorboy's World APC are some of the forum favorites. Economically D101 seems to be the better choice but I was skeptical on pulling the trigger based on the foaming properties. Has anyone experienced issues with D101 interfering with the overall function of the tornador?

If not, does anyone have a specific preference of APC that they prefer to use with the tornador? I have a few extremely dirty interiors coming up that the combo will be utilized on.

I am also strongly considering OPC as well, any input is welcome.

Thanks for any help, it is greatly appreciated.

I use D101 in my Tornador Black every day and it's fine. It doesn't foam up too much at all..

However, some swear that the best way to do it is to soak the area FIRST with APC then just use water in the Tornador.

Tornador makes their own Tornador Turbo Cleaner Enzyme Super Concentrate (http://www.autogeek.net/tornador-enzyme-cleaner.html) .

2oz of concentrate makes 32oz for $2.50

This mini-review by Nick (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/how-articles/37337-interior-cleaning-made-easy-w-tornador-gun.html)is the only thing I found on the Forum. It doesn't tell you much, as his car was not dirty and he only used it on the dash.

Thanks for the answer, that's what I was hoping to hear. Maybe I'll have to experiment with that method. I'm assuming the extended dwell time is the advantage over the standard method.

I appreciate the response but I think I'll have to pass on that. I was looking for something slightly more economical. Thanks again.

If anyone else has any input on this subject I would be interested in hearing it. Probably going to place my order in the next few days. Thanks

I have run Optimum Power Clean thru the older Z10 model without any foaming issue at 60 psi.

Waiting to try with 90 psi/5 CFM compressor to see if an upgrade to Z20 internals is in order

Okay, good to hear. I think I'll be picking up 2 gallons of D101 and a gallon of OPC.
