Hey everybody I recently got back from a week at Myrtle Beach with the family. Had a great time but had a lot of trouble with the internet connection with my laptop so getting on AG was hit and miss. I was really jonesing for some forum material to read and a detail to do so when whe got back Saturday I read up on a lot of what I missed. Then on Sunday I detailed a white 1999 Jeep Cherokee Laredo.

This belongs to a friend of mine that owns a car lot. He took this as a trade in and wanted me to make it presentable again. I asked him if the previous owner worked at Burger King because there were more french fries in this vehicle than I think they have at Burger King!

The paint was in pretty good shape but the plastic trim around the bottom of it was a light, light, light gray instead of the dark gray that it should be. Since I did not have really any paint correction to do I was just going to use a polish/cleaner before waxing. I used Pinnacle Paint Cleansing Lotion on one side, back, and hood, and figured I would do an expiriment on the other side and roof. When I purchased my XMT Swirl Removal kit I got some XMT #1 but never really used it so I thought I would try it as a cleaner and it worked pretty well, I was pleasantly surprised. If noone on here sees where this would be a problem I may continue to use it this way. Anyway here is what the detail consisted of:

Tires: Cleaned tires and wheels with DP Gel Wheel cleaner. Cleaned the wheel wells with Megs APC. Dressed tires with RL Tire and Trim Dressing (Thanks Dust - hope your trailer came clean). Dressed the wheel wells with Stoners More Shine.

Wash: Cleaned off bugs with Poorboy's Bug Squash. Washed with DP Auto Bath Shampoo and foam gun and white/yellow schmitt. Sprayed the trim (which was really bad) with Megs APC undilluted just before I sprayed with foam gun. I usually use DP Xtreme Foam but had not used the Auto Bath in a while so I mixed it a little stronger and it did great. Dried with Cobra guzzler and leaf blower.

Engine: Sprayed with Megs APC undiluted, worked in with a soft brush, hosed off and after it dried I sprayed with Stoners More Shine.

Interior: Cleaned with DP Total Interior Cleaner and protected with DP Interior Surface Protectant. Cleaned mats with Megs APC diluted @ 10:1 and my PC with a green aqua brush and all the stains came out. Cleaned all door jambs with DP Waterless Car Wash. I went through 5 MFs doing the door jambs. The door jambs were the dirtiest thing on the entire vehicle, the first one like this that I had encountered.

Trim: I sprayed all trim, roof racks (which I hate) and bumbers with Stoner's Trim Shine. Then after about 15 mins I spritzed a foam applicator with Poorboys Trim Restorer and went over all trim to level everything out on the trim. This combination really worked great and gave me even and complete coverage.

Headlights: Cleaned and polished with Plexus and WW MF.

Glass: Cleaned with Stoners Invisible Glass and WW MF.

Paint: Cleaned the paint on driver's side, back and hood with Pinnacle Paint Cleansing Lotion. Cleaned the passenger's side and roof with XMT #1. Used a LC White pad with both. Next I waxed with DP Max Wax with LC Gray pad.

I cleaned up my pads with the DP Pad rejuvenator that I just purchased and loved how it cleaned my pads. I let them soak for about 30 mins then rinsed them out and they were cleaner than they had been in a while. I really liked this product but then again I have liked all of the DP line that I have tried.

Well here come the pics:

Nice complete detail. Did you do that by yourself?
I ask because it will take me at least 10+ hours to two days to do a complete detail like that

wolfpacker, nice job. You don't need any advice. You have done a perfect detail.:applause: Looks like you hit all points of a full detail. Wow on the write up. Engine and hood shots really stand out. Nice turn around on the lower gray plastic. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks guys.

Z-06 - The detail took me about 4.5 hours. I have learned so many things here that my times have gotten expontially faster. I remember my first paid detail and I didn't do as much as I did to this and it took me about 7 hours. So you get faster if you heed the advice of the guys on here.

Sparkie - Thanks for the compliments and thanks for the review of the 99 F-150. Thanks to that I now have Menz Power gloss, #501, and #755 on my list now! Buddy of mine wants me to do his boat and I was hesitant due to the fact that I hated to buy marine specific product and might never use it again. Now I know I can use it on cars too:righton: .
