About how many medium sized cars do you guys get out of lets say a 32oz bottle of polish?

I noticed that I use harsher abrasive polishes faster than finishing polishes. I was wondering what you guys think.

I'd say 1-2 oz per abrasive polish on a med sized car. That's been my experience over the years.

<1 oz using a finishing/jeweling polish with a DA. Again, my experience.

Met a gentleman at Meguiar's TNOG who was having difficulty with M105 dusting.

He had used two 32oz bottles of M105 compounding his vehicle over the weekend.

Holy cow! Can't imagine why he had problems with dusting!

My average is 5 cars. I use about the same amount of compound and polish.

If your getting only 5 cars out of a 32oz bottle your using way to much product. I've had a 32oz bottle of FG400 and I've done a least 10 cars and there is still plenty in it. If your getting five cars out of a 32oz bottle your using over 6oz of product per car thats way to much.

Funny, I was going to ask this same question so I'm curious to hear answers.

I've had my 32oz bottle of 205 for five years I think, primarily just for my own car, but I've done a couple other cars now--over the last year.

I've done one really big truck (quad cab w/ long box), my own car probably three times, and just did a 2004 Ford Lightning (so beautiful). The bottle is almost gone, so I must be using too much. IDK though, because I really only use three drops to freshen up the pad and I certainly don't think they're very big. Maybe I've done more cars than I remember, or maybe the first time I used it five years ago I used way too much. I probably have half a car left in the bottle, but then again, I didn't think I'd have enough to finish the Lightning and I did.

At the rate I'm using, I should be able to get at least 4 cars from an 8oz bottle.

So glad I posted this. I guess I'm using way too much product. At first I thought it was normal but wow ! Right now I've used up most of the Griots Garage Machine Polish 2 and 3 and I've done 2 cars. :(

Maybe it's a blessing in disguise. Now you get a chance to order some new and better polishes :)

It's probably the pad priming where I'm losing out. I only do 1 or 2 panels at a time because of the heat in my garage. I only do my personal vehicles. So each time I start I have to prime the pads again.

I've not used 32oz of ANY compound and polish combined on a single vehicle, even back when I was doing tow trucks for 18 years.
