they will dust, that's just a signal that it's time to add more polish to the pad.

QDing is always recommended after you polish

nothing to worry about :D

optimum's abrasives don't dust. They just take a bit longer than other polishes to work on a PC.

use monzerma polish/glaze instead. they both together worked great on my scratched red trans am. can't even tell there was any defects, then polish with the polish that goes with the wax or sealent you will use. perfection to clear spotless shine! any residues aftewr that happen from monzerma will come off and buff nice with pinnicles spray detail/crystal mist. works great on red anyway so should give you excellent results. start with orange pad and work down to white for polishing with monzerma and white for the polish that goes with the brand pinnacle you want to use.then get yellow pads on clasic motor accessories and use for sealent and waxing but like to wax by hand so sealent is best with the new yellow sealent pad by lake country. give it a try and you won't be disappointed! final polish 2 with orange then white after defects are removed then back to white pad for brilliant shine. rest is the polish/glaze that goes with the wax and sealent you use.

I tried ASR for the first time last weekend, and it dusted on me. Used 5.5 speed on the PC. Looks like I need to QD or ONR after it, as suggested by others on a diff thread.

never seen a polish that didnt dust to some degree, some less some more.Have you used Optimum? I have never had any of their three dust on me.

I got the XMT PC kit when I first bought my PC. They did OK, but they did dust and they weren't as strong as I needed them to be. So, I moved on to Optimum, Menzerna and started using Meguiar's again also.
