I have been trying to use the 3M Perfect-It 3000 Rubbing Compound with my 7424 to remove so scratches and swirls. I probably worked 3 hours on the trunk of my car to get it looking decent. I have tried orange and yellow pads. It seems like the compound turns to a dust and is hard to wipe off when it does haze over. I looked at the instructions and it says it is for use with a buffer, it does not say anything about a polisher. Should I switch to something like M105 since it is for use with a polisher or is the 3M compound performing like it should and it just that slow of a process?
