I wondering if the various Detailing products mentioned on here are safe for the old finishes, e.g. enamels, lacquers. Either car or motorcycle.

By the same token, are the tools safe? e.g. foam pads, MF pads, etc.

I'm new if you haven't guessed!

Just read your Private Message to me about this thread and the answer is "yes".

Yes you can use any modern high quality products on older single stage paints. I'm a huge fan of using #7 to restore antique single stage paints and have a number of articles on this topic, here are two...

I owned two Spitfires back in the 1980's. Fun cars, just needed much bigger motors.

IF these cars have the original paint then definitely do the #7 treatment if it's important to you to preserve the original paint.
