It has been a long 4 years, with new job, moving halfway across the country and a bad back injury and my poor black G35 is showing the neglect. I decided that I can't let it go any longer and will start polishing this weekend. I got a PC and plan on doing a wash, clay, Menzerna IP and FF. There are some scratches and most likely one bird bomb that will not come out, but a good first step. After seeing the outcome I may do some touch-up work. Following pictures are not for the weak stomachs.

Thanks, the water spots have a grayish hue to the whole car. It was hard being down with a herniated disc for over 18 months.

Got the G done today, took 10 hours. I did a clay, compound, polish, klasse, and Souveran on it. Couldn't get any pics because it was dark will get some tomorrow in the sunlight. One thing I found out is the hood and bumper needs a repaint and have lots of chips all over the car. Also to top it off it was the hottest day of the year.

Wow 98 degrees is very hot but i am happy to here you kept the paint cool cause most of the time the product, compound, etc wont work to its full ability if the surface applied to is too hot

Well here are the pictures. The first few are after compound and polish but before the IPA wipedown and wash. I know there is still material on the paint it was cleaned off.

It didn't go quite as expected but once I got the paint clean, I found a lot of areas that couldn't be fixed. The front of the hood and bumper looks like it has went through a sandblaster.

Thans guys, but the front end is gone. Needs the hood wet sanded and cleared and a new bumper. The rest could be touched up, and already have a kit for it.
