Someone asks this like once a week. One thing never changes, answers vary greatly. Personally auto finesse illusion and dodo supernatural are two of my favs.

This is gonna drive you crazy!! Please take any recommendation with a grain of salt. That includes me! I have about 15 - 18 different jars of wax and about 5 are my favorite so far and any of these will be great on your ride. Realize, one might be better for this; the other for that yadi yadi...etc. But I can't pick one over the other so I pick these 5 so far. IMO put on a coat of sealant on 1st before you wax regardless of the wax you pick...that will make your shine last longer.

I have about 4 - 6 other jars that have not even been used but will try them out soon on different cars. Here are the few that I like so far:

1. Chemical Guys Celeste Detaglio $175 per jar

2. Pinnacle Black Label Synergy $195 per jar

3. Pinnacle Souveran $95 per jar

4. Dodo Juice Supernatural Wax $130 per jar

5. Collinite SuperDouble Coat Wax #476 $20

It all depends on what you are willing to spend.

If your looking into Zymol Wax (any of them) Do not waste your time they are the worst in my collection. IMO

I am a wax hog and one thing is for sure....YOU CAN TELL the difference of waxes on cars. I might be in the minority of this but you can tell the depth and wet-look for each wax. Again, that is me; take it with a grain of salt.

Overall....good luck!!! Good Hunting!!! Let us know what you picked and hopefully you will like it.

Ah, I forgot to mention I have Vic's Red Wax but have not used it. According to their instructions red and darker color cars work well with that wax. It is about $60 per jar.

Sorry for no feedback on the wax but when I do I will let you know.

Ok OP, I'll play further, I thought about it more.

If I had $50 to spend on wax I'd get BFMS, Sig Series 2 or Sonax Paste.

SSII and Max Wax are very good hidden gems, and wont break the bank either.

or if you are looking to spend a little less

P21S 100% Carnauba Wax (http://www.autogeek.net/p21s-100--carnauba-wax.html)

or

Pinnacle Signature Series II Carnauba Paste Wax (http://www.autogeek.net/pisisepawax.html)

If I was you , I would probably get Collinite 915 to start. That really is all you need. It's about $30. The thing about Collinite 915 is, unlike most waxes - most people that use 915 feel it's actually worth 2-3x the price.

So, while there are many nice waxes - there are few nice waxes that perform at 2-3x their price point.

•Does the Wax have to contain just carnauba wax, and no other "type" of waxes (bees wax, montan, etc.)?

•Here's just one confusing example of a "Carnauba Wax":
P21S Concours Carnauba Wax...
•You'd suspect with such a "Title", it would contain only carnauba wax. Let's see what the product description says.

"Premium Ingredients.
Brazilian #1 yellow carnauba and beeswax:
Two premium ingredients preferred by car care experts,
are blended to create this pure car wax".

So...Nope.

Instead...
This so similarly named product states: only carnauba wax:

P21S 100% Carnauba Wax (http://www.autogeek.net/p21s-100--carnauba-wax.html)

_________________________________________________

•My conclusion:
-You may have to broaden your search/(research) in order to find other purely, and solely carnauba, "best" carnauba auto-waxes; or:
acquiesce, and accept with open arms: Auto-waxes that are formulated with not only other types of waxes, but also those that contain chemicals that are similar to auto-Sealants.

Good Luck in your quest: For the best. :)
