APC as pad cleaner

I saw some post that recommended using an APC as a pad cleaner. I ran out of XMT pad cleaner last night so I used my D101 @4:1 to clean Poorboy's PWS out of my Crimson LC HT pads.

Cleaned quicker and better than the XMT, but I had a casualty. One pad lost the backing when I was spin drying it on my Griots DA. It shot about 30yds down my driveway.

Was it the APC that caused the backing failure? Should I have used 10:1 D101?

I use Megs APC+ at 10:1. spray on and let soak after kneeding in with fingers. I spin on the DA inside a small round trash can to remove more water. Pad cannot get away with DA over can opening. I dry in the sun and have never had a backing give way.
