I'd rather the dealer do it I guess because car washes have lots of random stuff in them.

Since I believe that I've already (correctly) answered the OP's question...I'll now attempt to answer yours:
Neither one:
My auto insurance doesn't cover my vehicles when they're being used as a backstop.
On a related note: My Wife often tells me she sometimes wonders if I'm almost smart enough to be a backstop.
