View Full Version : XMT #2 Isn't "cutting" it...

Pulled my first detail with my PC yesterday and was highly dissapointed in the results of the XMT#2 Fine Swirl Removal.

I washed the car, clayed before the application of the swirl removal. When I applied the XMT#2 it barely removed ANY swirls in the hood. I actually think the XMT Caranuba Finishing Glaze filled in more mars than the #2.

The #2 was applied w/ an orange cut CCS pad and the Glaze was applied w/ a CCS black polishing pad.

Question to those that have used the XMT #2. Is it really that light of a product? Are my expectations too high? (That it should remove all swirls/marring in the hood) What other products could pull out the swirling?

The car is a 2007 true red mazdaspeed3 and has always been in good care.

Its more of a finishing polish, its not supposed to have a whole lot of cut.
Kinda a no brainer

I use number 1 first and then if i still dont see the results i want i bump it up to number 2. I havn't had any problem's and its been able to remove 95% of swirls i take at it.

Bad batch of #2?

Might just not be enough. Theres a huge difference between glazes and swirl removers. You cant compare them.

I think you might also be using it wrong, you keep useing the word "apply", you dont "apply" swirl removers or compounds.

Yeah coupe has a point, you need to break it in there for a good 3-5 minutes.

I have watched the videos hosted here. I certianly broke the product down when applying it to the car.

Try going up to #3. It may just be a tough clear. I am assuming you do not feel another pass with it would be useful, right?

I didn't think about another pass....!
Maybe that could get them out.

Yah usually I have to do more than one. But I doubt I press as hard as a lot of the guys....
