2855628557UUUUUGGGGHHHH! So I took my truck to the dealer for an oil change and as I was getting back into my truck saw this scratch on the drivers side lower door!!!!! They offered to fix it but very nervous about them doing more harm then good. They said they would repaint the door!! Is this something I could attack myself by using touch up paint and wet sanding it? Also it's a 2014 silverado!!! Thx

That's a repaint. It looks down past the color coat. You may be able to touch it up - but I wouldn't be happy with that.

Basically, they owe you a new truck.

I'd recommend doing your own oil changes and maintenance to minimize any dealer interaction. Plus, you will save some money probably - but even if the maintenance is "free" - you gotta worry about this type of nonsense.

Larger pics. Yes, you can do a touch up with factory paint, wet sand, compound, and polish. If done correctly, the repair should be almost undetectable if not completely. Why not let the dealership repaint?

You can fix that yourself one weekend day thought it look like it went to bare metal though so you may want to consider adding primer into the repair too but if I was you i would do my own oil changes( basic repairs) and leave the more serious stuff for them as long as it don't void the warranty or anything

Let the dealership paint it. If you attempt to repair it and you're not satisfied with the outcome it's too late to take it back to the dealer.

Let the dealership repaint it, make them responsible. It will come back to bite you if you have any more troubles down the line
