Today I put 2 coats of CQuartz after I polished using Griot's 6" with Lake Country CCS Orange and white 6.5" and hydro-tech 3". Then wiped down using Eraser.

How many layers of CQuartz can I layer? The more the better?

How thick did you go? Looks dam good after 2 coats...

2 is pretty much the standard for verifying even / complete coverage. I have 3 layers of CQUK on one of my cars currently. I personally think 3-4 is the max before it's just a waste.

Pretty thin I think. I think the gloss is mainly from the Meguairs Ultimate Polish, and maybe CQuartz contributed a little bit.

A few questions. After waiting for at least 30 min with temp around 80 degrees in the garage, the applied area still appeared to be a little oily. There was no haze like what you would expect from a wax or sealant. Running a finger across simply smeared the applied area. The removal was super easy. No need to use much pressure. It would say it was mainly wiping off, and not buffing off. Is that normal? Should I have waited longer?

I did a test on an old wheel and CQuartz was still a little oily after 2 hours with easy wipe off.

The car is white, so I am mostly interested in durability and anti-scratchness, if at all. Thanks.

So I have a question for you Troy, when you applied 3 coats, did you wait an hour between each coat? Or is it possible to apply 2 one day and 3rd coat the next day or at a later time?

I've only applied UK, you should have been fine waiting 30 minutes before buffing off. There is a big difference in terms of buffing off between CQ & CQ UK. My suggestion would be to call Corey @ CarPro...

I did 2 layers 1hour apart in the fall. And added my 3rd layer in the spring. I simply did a full IronX, TarX Decon and washed with Reset / IronX soap. Then I did 2 Easer wipe downs. I talked it over with Corey and he agreed my re-prep was good for adding more layers.

The application and removal or CQ and CQUK are different for sure. CQUK is wipe on wipe off fairly quickly. CQ is apply let it "haze / rainbow" for 30min or so and then buff. Neither is hard, they are simply different. Personally I think CQUK is a little more forgiving in colder / damper environments. But I do like CQ as well and would consider going back and using it again.

Thanks Troy, very helpful info! I chose UK because it seemed easier to apply..
