I was at Harbor Freight the other day...noticed they had some pads. Anyone ever try them?

Never tried them. They are cheap enough, so give them a try and report back to us.

I used them. Save your money. They all fell apart after one day. Haha one of them actually exploded into about a thousand pieces when a friend of mine was trying to do a door panel! Spend the extra couple of bucks and get good ones from AG.

is this HJ from JKJC? i have used the orange compounding pad and the blue 1 step pad they have a decent amount of cut i used them on an f-350 that was absolutely hammered and an enclosed trailer to clean up the single stage paint...they worked well for the tough jobs and i wasn't worried about ruining the pads due to the low price (i paid 4 bucks a piece)

Yep that would be me lol! You found me.

I might pick up a few next time I'm there. I actually had an orange LC pad shred on me once the first time I used it.

yea when i did the f-350 i destroyed an orange pad. i did the whole hood with one pad on speed 6 (the pad was pretty hot) and when i went to pull the pad off of the backing plate it tore away leaving behind the velcro and some of the pad. but as far as correction is concerned i would say they are acceptable for their cost.

No way I'd put their pads near my car.

I find HF "Warrior" pads to be "miss or hit", a high percentage of miss (failures), a few hits (OK pads). Lake Country pads are the opposite.. They are "hit or miss" a high percentage of great pads, and a few failures here and there.

I've been there with the HF pads and steer clear of them if possible.

The HF pads don't handle heat very well. I can get about half a panel done before I swap out for a new one otherwise they loose their form and start shredding. Now I've learned my lesson and will go for higher quality stuff.

The HF finishing pad works well for wax application with DA. It outlasted my Griot pad which lost its Velcro backing.

I use the Blue and the black ones for "other" stuff. such as cleaning my storm windows and my tile in the bathroom. For that they are not bad.

They'll get the job done but they'll crumble a bit and separate from the velcro quicker than normal. Also the blue pad is on the softer end of polishing. You can get lake country flat pads in a bundle almost as cheap on this site, or buff and shine pads in a bundle on another

Hi, I'm new here, and new to the level of detailing expertise I see here. That said, I used an HF black polishing pad to wax my Jetta with Collinite 845. Did the whole car, with no issues. I used a 6" pad on a 5" BP from AG. YMMV, but I'm content with it.

Why even take the chance touching your paint with an HF pad when you can get a 5.5" LC Flat pad for about $.84 more each when you buy a six pack.
