Well after a weekend of work and fun with the truck...

I discovered I had a few scratches in the truck. Most were similar to the one posted below. I couldn't find my WG uber compound so ended up resorting to my BF SRC and Meguiars G110v2. Not ideal for removing scratches, but it worked pretty well. I'm by all means an amateur when it comes to terms of detailing. I've owned quite a few black vehicles and was always plagued by scratches/swirls that bugged me forever. Since I've discovered this site a few years ago, that has since changed.

Truck was washed with Meguiars Gold shampoo and dried with a cobra guzzler/jelly blade. The truck was clayed not that long ago, so I felt comfortable going straight to paint correction as the baggie test was pretty good. Started out with a CCS white pad and my SRC. I was able to get the scratches mostly out but were still slightly visible, so I moved to a CCS orange pad. After a round with the orange, the scratches were gone and the paint was left crystal clear. You can see the reflection of one of my mustangs in the first pic, then compare it to the second. No LSP was applied in the picture below, just paint correction. Keep in mind these are Iphone pics as well.

I was so pleased with the results that I just ended up taking the rest of the afternoon and doing the whole truck.

Once again, these are Iphone pics and do not do the truck justice, but the depth and reflections after applying BF crystal seal and followed up with BF black ice wax the next day created results I never thought possible out of this truck. Even with a very very heavy metal flake in the paint, it still has a mirror like shine up close and looks like a diamond sparkling at a distance in the sun.

Thanks again AG and to the forum for making my vehicles look top notch.

Thanks! Nothing like the shine of a clean black truck.

Here was my last truck.

I fully agree with you and you can tell you pamper your vehicles( black paintwork especially) the shine and reflection on that truck is outstanding

Ha don't get me wrong, my trucks see a fair amount of play/work as they do pampering, but I definitely like to keep my vehicles clean. I just have this bad addiction to black trucks

I don't see it as a bad addiction though it can sometime seem like a nine to five job when it comes to the detailing part

Haha isn't that the truth. Pretty much my days off consist of at least hitting the truck with a QD at the minimum. Doesn't hurt when the truck gets complimented a good bit too.
