I will be wiring my existing carport for overhead lights before the concrete is poured and sides are installed. I have been impressed with the LED lighting at modern gas stations and banks. The amount of light possible with such little electrical demand is amazing! I am a novice when it comes to this stuff but am comfortable doing my own work.

Has anyone had any experience with canopy LED's and paint correction/detailing? The light(s) will be used for maintaining vehicles only. Are the $100 units as good as the $300 units? Do I even need commercial technology? There are many threads discussing florescent fixtures but not many related to LED's. I don't see why I shouldn't use LED. Money is not as important as quality, but I am conscious of value. Thanks for any opinions and comments.

Here are three I am looking at right now........

3350 Lumen 36 Watt Neutral White LED Canopy Light - White (http://www.e-conolight.com/e-cc4l03nw.html)

I'm not so sure a canopy light will work well under a carport. If memory serves me correctly, they are designed to be mounted much higher than the standard 7'-9' carport roof height. If mounted too low, they may act more like a spot light since they will not have the height to throw properly.
