Hey everyone. Over the past few weeks I haven't bought too many detailing supplies... which is a good thing for my wallet. I have, however, been looking a lot ;). I have been looking for some Clay Magic to test it for one final time. I have used 3-4 bars in the past with less than desirable results. So off to Autozone I went, which is about 15 miles away, somewhere I don't usually go. Autozone usually has CM blue and this time was no different... just $10.99 now. I was also looking for some Sea Foam to get rid of some carbon build up in the Jeep when a can caught my eye... CD2 Engine Detailer! It was in front of the Black Magic engine detailer... and it was the only can. Huge find, I've never seen it before. So I asked if they had anymore but they said the Black Magic junk, I mean stuff, is replacing it... oh well I have 1 can atleast . I also picked up some more 2000 grit sandpaper...

Oh.... I forgot one other thing....

I also got a BMW!!!

....hood that is....

Everything in the picture was $25. The hood is off of an '02 325I. It is actually in very good shape... the grill area is a little bent but that is all. It also has very few swirls... which won't stay that way when I break out the sandpaper :p. So expect a few more pictures of the hood in many different states in the future! Anything specific you'd like me to test out on the hood?

I can get CD2 no probs, :P I can order it myself, but the Seafoam is a good catch considering I pay about 25 for it alone.

Yeah, Autozone is one of the only places that I can find the Sea Foam... only $6.99 I believe and the CD2 was $4 something. I've never felt the need to order a case of the CD2 but it is nice to finally have the chance to try it out. The CM Blue is also a little tricky to find around here as well. Most places have the Meg's and Mother's OTC clay, but I've heard the the CM Blue should be more pliable than before... I guess I should go open the box and see.

Is there anything you'd like to see me do? Wetsanding and then polishing is fun but I'd like to try something new...

The Sea Foam is some type of chemical that you can either pour in the intake, oil, or gas to clean out the carbon deposits from the engine. The CD2 is just a dressing.

BTW, the CM blue is soft but still breaks apart. Still nothing like the erazer yellow clay (and not the same pictured on another forum which led me to try this...)

What did you pay for the hood?

What did you pay for the hood?

I took it out of a body shop's trash.:p. It's actually a trailer where they put all of the leftover panels to be recycled.... they said come on by and take what you need . This is my second hood. When I'm done playing with it, I'll just take it back :D

That is an awesome find Budman! For a while, I was searching for panels as well but I figured that unless I was going to be using the rotary, I should be pretty safe...

Great purchases though!!!
