New member from MA here looking for help. I have a 2013 Black Altima and I am looking to keep her in mint condition. I have never attempted to do any type of detailing so I am looking for some tips and to see what I should use.

I noticed there are some swirl marks and minor scratches not to mention a few rock dings from this terrible winter we had up here. I was going to have a professional do it but I am not aware of any highly recommended ones around the area.

Any information would be amazing.

I want to get rid of the swirls, patch the minor dings from the rocks and just give her a beautiful gloss again. Not sure what I should be spending, as you can tell I am very raw to this whole idea of self detailing.

I am in Quincy or Cape Cod. I would love any names of pros so I don't destroy my car.

There are a few members up in MA who could help you...

I'm trying to think of some more...

These two guys used to work together but it looks like they split up--not sure, either of them is highly qualified:

That should have been four--two member profiles, one website, and one facebook.

Sorry, I edited it later...had to put my thinking cap to remember Rick and Ryan--I don't think they are members here.

Welcome to AGO. If you go to the "how to" section you should be able to find all the info you need. Anything you don't find everyone here is happy to answer any questions. It sounds you you Judy need to polish the car, possibly some light compounding. As new as the vehicle is there is little chance of ruining your paint. You could probably buy what you need to do it yourself for not a whole lot more than you would pay a pro to do it. If you plan on keeping the car for a while being black it will need some polishing occasionally. The products will last long enough to polish future cars you own as well.
