Hey guys,

I have to re-apply 2 of the GSi vinyl letters to the project car I currently have. When I went to NAPA I asked for emblem glue and the guy came out with this huge tube of glue that costed 26$+ tx. I only need like a 100th of that tube so I did not purchase it.

Are there other glues I could use? I asked on a body repair forum and could not get an aswer other than: "Use emblem glue".

I was thinking gorilla glue but I found a thread on Autogeek where the guy had nightmare scenario using it... so that's out ;)

What about ccontact glue or plastic glue?

DO NOT USE SUPER GLUE!!

Use double sided tape. That's pretty much what everyone uses.

They are thick vinyl letters. They are also embossed, the center part is thicker than the edges.

I don't see how I can use 2 sided tape. That stuff is like a quarter of an inch thick, and is very hard to cut to form any design. I need something that will make the letters flush with the surface.

I wasn't planning to use super glue ;)

Maybe hit up the dealership parts department and see what the manufacture uses or recommends?

Are you sure they don't already have adhesive on the back... hidden under a paper of plastic backing?

I usually use the llumar emblem glue because it doesn't scratch my paint and no residue if i decided to remove it. Other brand is also good but please do not buy those brand from china.

The 3M Automotive Double Stick tape with the Red backing is pretty thin.

I used it to re-apply the emblems on my GMC without issues.

Go check it out at you local auto parts store. All the ones in my area carry several widths. match the width to the height of the letters...it will save a lot of cutting.
